We kicked off our summer with a trip to the beach. It was a lovely break from everyday life. We saw sting rays, dolphins, crabs, ate wonderful food, and mostly just enjoyed being beach bums. I took some pictures of the kiddos while we were away. They are both growing up so quickly. Brother will be starting Kindergarten in the fall and our little girl is a walking, jibber jabbering, little lady. I really wish I could hit pause on this season of life, it's exhausting.... but so much fun!

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!

Hi y'all! Can't believe I haven't dropped in since December of LAST year. My goodness, time flies. Just wanted to let you all know I am still around and still busy as ever! Life is good. Just thought I would update the blog with a few projects I've worked on. I'm also in process of updating my portfolio, but it is taking time so be patient with me as things are a little messy looking under my portfolio.

I have to say though, my favorite part of looking back on past projects is seeing how diverse the styles are. I design specifically for YOU, my clients. I love working on different styles and I strive for all my designs to always be the BEST version of your unique style! Whether that be country, contemporary, traditional, or shabby chic, transitional, or some combination of multiple styles. You will see, looking below how many different design styles I have worked on. It's always so much fun and keeps me constantly engaged in all aspects and styles of design which I love.

I hope you enjoy looking back with me on these past projects, and if any of my design clients have updated photos of their spaces, I would love to include those in my portfolio as well. Please email me your photos, and I will send you a fun little treat in return! A little bribery never hurts, right? ;)

Thanks as always to all my clients past and present! It's such a joy to get to work with all of you!

Before & After Photos of a Reception Room

Here are some before and after photos of a space I worked on last year. This was such a fun project for me as I usually work on residential spaces. It was fun to think outside the box and work on a commercial space for once. I think my background in residential design helped me make this reception room much more sophisticated and comfortable. We wanted this space to feel less like a "waiting room" and more like a beautiful lounge. I think we accomplished just that!

The vision design board created by Modern Grace Designs

Before Photo of the space shows it was your typical, bland waiting room. Everything was just too small/not proportionate for the space. The chairs lacked style. The large blank wall was just screaming for something fabulous.

After photo. We added an oversized abstract piece of art, mother of pearl table lamps, chairs that have great lines and pattern, taller end tables, a comfortable leather loveseat for contrast and floating ottomans which serve double duty as extra storage.

Amazing transformation right? I love how the furnishings, art and accessories make the carpeting and walls feel fresh and new, even though they remained the same.

Because what's a blog without a few kiddo photos :) I can't believe it's already the middle of November....this year has just flown by quicker than any other year.

Brother Bear turned 5 in September. He absolutely loves preschool and would go 7 days a week if he could. He has made so many new friends. He loves swinging, playing dinosaurs/jurassic world, and watching toy reviews on the ipad (haha...please tell me he's not the only child that does this!!!). He loves cheeseburgers, tacos, spaghetti, and anything sweet! He is full of energy and always says the darnest things. We have entered the age were he doesn't like to smile for photos but I quickly snapped this one at the end of summer when we were out on a nature hike. He is such a ham. We love him so much and are so proud of the little man he is becoming.

Sissy girl turned 9 months the end of October. She is getting to be such big girl! She crawls like a champ. Loves all veggies- sweet peas, carrots, and sweet potatoes are her faves. She ADORES her brother and hangs onto his every word. She gives brother the biggest smiles and loves jabbering his name "bubba". She also says "dadda" and "momma" but "bubba" is by far her most frequently heard jabber. She loves dancing to music, putting everything in her mouth, and going on walks with mommy. She brings so much joy to our family. I took this photo a few weeks ago right before the leaves all fell off the trees. You can see she has two crunchy leaves clinched in her little fists :)

So grateful everyday for these two little people that call me Momma.

One Room Challenge: Week 6

Welcome to the final week of the One room Challenge! Sharing with you some "after" photos of our little powder bath transformation.

I really love how this space turned out- but it's not done yet. I still have a few loose ends- finding some artwork (keep changing my mind!), possibly changing out the lighting, and we are still waiting on getting our sink plumbing hooked up. It's been a process for sure- but we are so close to the end I staged it for a few photos to share with you anyways. ;)

Here is my original design board inspiration. Most things stayed the same- just a few changes and loose ends here and there.

And a few photos so you remember how the tiny space looked before...very dated, Pink (!!!) potty, yucky linoleum, leaky faucet.

gross. gross. gross.

And here are a few "after" photos of how it looks today. I apologize in advance because these aren't the best after photos, I missed my opportunity for natural light (early morning!) in the space so I had to flip on the switch thus everything looks like its glowing :)

Pretty much the only thing that stayed the same in the entire bathroom was the light fixture. I still would like to change it out for a swing arm sconce, but for now the original will do. It's been growing on me as the weeks have passed by.

The basket holds a few extra toilet paper rolls :) I forgot to pick up flowers in town yesterday so the fern leaves came in out of desperation.

I will share sources in an upcoming post! Thanks again for following along with me as we have completed this little transformation. We are so glad to have this project almost completed!

One Room Challenge: week 5

Happy Friday- I'm a day late for the link-up once again. But sharing with you more progress on our tiny Powder Bath for the One Room Challenge.

The floor tiles were grouted. This picture doesn't do them justice....they really look so awesome. The scale of the tiles was just perfect for this little space. My brother-in-law also added the new base trim which really added such a finished look to the space- before the linoleum went up onto the walls (eek!). It was ugly.

The walls were painted my favorite green and the new bathroom mirror was hung. The wood mirror adds so much warmth to the space.... I just love it.

My fabric for the curtains just came in yesterday so I need to get busy sewing. Maybe I'll have time this weekend.

I need to pick up a few accessories in the next week or so for the final reveal. I still haven't changed out the lighting (which may not get done before next week) but I'm happy with all the progress. I hope you will come back and join me next week to see the finished photos!

{one room challenge: week 4}

I missed last happened and well the blog always takes a backseat. Here are more progress pics to keep you following along. It has to get worse before it gets better....lots of ugly pictures to share with you .

We (and in "we" I really mean the guys) pulled out all the fixtures. My handy brother-in-law did all the dry wall and mudding.

As you can see the floors under the linoleum were so yucky!! Ekk!

Then all that ugly was covered with all this pretty! Hex tiles for the win! Big box store selections aren't all that bad. This shows them before they were grouted and they looked even better after the grout was applied.

I really don't like leaving you with all these ugly, unfinished progress photos but please come back next week and see the next step in this little renovation project! Thing start looking much better next week!
